Orang-Pendek in Print

Right now, the Center for Fortean Zoology's Richard Freeman has a new book out on Sumatra's Orang-Pendek. You can find out more about the book at my latest Lair of the Beasts column at Mania.com. Here's the link. If you want to learn all about the Orang Pendek, this is definitely the book for you!

Excellent. I put that at the top of my list of cryptids we will find in our lifetime. The only other two I believe might have a chance to be found at Tasmanian Tiger and Bigfoot. I'm more intrigued by Orang because of the amount of sightings, the validity of the witnesses and the environment they're being seen in. If I recall, the Hobbit was also from Indonesia. Lots of secrets there.

Yeah, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a Tasmanian Tiger turned up one day...

I don't think the Tasmanian Tiger can be allowed to exist due to its effect on the tourist industry. The fact it's now become a mythological creature enables it to become a Nessie type of beast, and that's where a majority of locals want it.

Yeah. It's very much the same with the town of Roswell - totally geared up to promoting the mystery.
