Surviving Mammoths?

If, like me, you're fascinated with (and perhaps even a little bit obsessed by) tales of surviving mammoths (at least, into relatively recent times), you are definitely going to want to check out the new edition of David Acord's Cryptid Chronicles, which is packed with data on such controversial matters.

This is pretty much a mammoth/mastadon special-edition of David's publication, and it works very well and offers some intriguing data in support of the notion that, just maybe, the mammoth lived on far longer that conventional science suggests.

Here's the link to David's magazine; and here's the link to an article I wrote on this very subject a few months ago.

Thomas Jefferson clearly believed in the possible existance of live mammoths in the far northwest of North America.
He personally interviewed American Indians who claimed to have heard of them and asked explorers to follow up on these stories.

I have no problem believing the mammoth stories.
Good luck in finding them, if they're out there. ;)
Great post.

I remember reading somewhere, probably the Fortean Times, of how Russian explorers only reached NE Siberia in 1922. Apparently the Evenk tribe who live there had stories of seeing mammoths earlier that century , along the coast. The most recent mammoth remains were found on Wrangel Island, off the coast of NE Siberia.
It's still an undeveloped, unpopulated region,so maybe worth a look.
