Monster Memoirs Vs Monster Memoirs

I notice that Josh Gates - of TV's Destination Truth - has a book out. Its title: Destination Truth: Memoirs of a Monster Hunter.

Er...didn't someone else once write a book called Memoirs of a Monster Hunter?

What's also interesting is that right next to my photo on the back cover of my Memoirs it describes the book with the following opening words: "Part X-Files, part Crocodile Hunter..."

On the back of Gates' book, right next to his photo, it describes the book with the following opening words: "Part journey into the unexplained, part hilarious travelogue..."

Hmmmm...

You got me with "monster hunter!" Sounds great.

Noticed this as well. I think it is kind of cheap that either no one noticed, or cares that they took your title. But then, Troy Taylor shamelessly rips off the titles of old Harry Price books. Maybe you'll get a few book sales out of this? How do you feel about it all?

To be honest, there's nothing that can be done about it, as (a lot of people dont realize this) under most circumstances you can't copyright the title of a book.

And, yes, maybe it will add to sales LOL! But, yeah, there's plenty of other options they could have used.

How about we team up and write a book on the history of the Mayan culture and call it The Mothman Prophecies?

:)

Hey Nick, it must be frustrating, sadly it happens all the time. Hopefully people will buy your book instead of his, Destination Truth has to be the most irritating show on tv. I'm off to write a book about Liam Gallagher now, it's called Man-Monkey. Hope you don't mind ;-)

I kind of find it just plain stupid more than anything else. After all, how hard can it be to come up with something original? Not very, surely!
