Crypto and the MIB

Although my newly-published book, The Real Men in Black, focuses to a significant degree on the MIB and UFOs (as, of course, you would expect!), it also demonstrates the undeniable link between the mysterious MIB and Cryptozoology.

As The Real Men in Black demonstrates, Mothman, the Loch Ness Monster, the Chupacabra, and perhaps even the legendary "Thunderbird Photograph" have attracted the attention of the MIB. And, in a real scoop, I detail in my book the very creepy MIB encounter of legendary cryptozoologist, Loren Coleman himself...

  1. I know I'm a nobody, a two-bit paranormal researcher. However, I just ordered your MIB book on Amazon yesterday. I've been waiting a long time for a book like this to come out. I'm really excited to read it. I find Men in Black to be very mysterious and fascinating. I'm a huge fan. Keep they mysteries alive.

  3. I finished this book the other day, and I loved it! I really like it when an author can provide many examples of the topic at hand. And you certainly did. I also really enjoyed your discussion of the origins and explanations behind the MIB. The time travel one was my favorite. I've been wanting to know more about MIB experiences people have had for a long while. I just zipped through your book, it was so fascinating. Thanks again!
I have another question for you. Since you go out a lot and collect stories. I want to ask about your interviewing and researching methods. I have been commissioned to co-author a book about ghosts in New Mexico. I have to work on some pretty low key places. I really don't know about getting to intrusive into people's lives, but I realize that's what I may have to do. How do you set up interviews and conduct research? Do you just have to be hard nosed and go for it? Do you know any tips on getting people to spill information?
Your work is great. I really enjoy everything you produce. I'm working on reading all of your books. I have a special place in my heart for monsters.

  4. Hi Jennae

Thanks for the comments re the MIB book, much appreciated! Yeah, the time-travel idea is a very interesting one!

Re interviews, it usually happens one of several ways. Sometimes, people (who have read my books, articles, etc) will contact me and want to share their stories.

Other times, I will get to hear of a story and then try and track the person down and ask them if they are willing to talk, and yep, you have to be persistent!

I try and apply general invesigatve techniques, always try and audio-record all interviews, ask the person to speak on the record (if they are willing), etc.

Some publishers (certainly mine do) always ask the interviewees to sign a release form confirming they are cool with having their interview included in the book.

I think I had to mail out approx 20 release forms for all the people I interviewed for the MIB book.

But, it's always good to get first-hand stories, and where the person is providing new info, as I always think it's important to give the reader something new and unseen.
