With all due respect to the Sgt. Willis interviewed in the article, how can he be sure that deer are the primary food source of the Sasquatch? Because of a single eyewitness account that he referenced? Wouldn't it be more responsible to stake this claim on physical evidence (e.g., deer remains found in scat from an unidentified predator [I'd think that most state wildlife forensics labs have the capability to identify anomalous DNA from the critter that deposited the scat, or at least establish that it wasn't from a dog, etc.]). Or, perhaps carcasses from deer killed in the manner which Sgt. Willis described? At the very least, maybe we could settle for a high percentage of eyewitness reports that suggest carnivorous behavior (e.g., Sasquatch feeding)? Also, what's the basis for his describing the existence of scent glands and their location? Would that explain the fetid odor that these creatures often emit (according to the reports), especially in the East? I appreciate Mr. Willis' service and interest in the subject but he does the field of investigation no favors if his assertions are based solely on his personal speculation.
